At Stadionplein, Matthew Darbyshire designed a wall-less dream apartment in collaboration with local residents, crafted entirely from bronze and concrete. Its interior features, among other things, an IKEA Klippan sofa, a striking Sottsass bookshelf, a vintage telephone, and even a bicycle – all carefully selected from a digital catalogue.
This public living room is the final piece in a large-scale redevelopment of the square. A place where the design of everyday life becomes tangible – and where the neighbourhood could quite literally step inside during a festive housewarming.
