Last Thursday, March 19, marked the festive unveiling of a series of new artworks! On Cruquiuseiland, where reeds and industry once defined the area, five twelve-meter-tall reed stems by artist James Beckett now stand. The sculptures, scattered across the island, are a collection of stories: they reference the history of trade, industry, and climate change, and show how the past resurfaces in the area’s new design.
