Het stadscuratorium believes that monuments can also undergo changes, provided that careful consideration is given to the artistic and conceptual execution, in relation to the context, and that the artwork is technically sound.
In this request, advice was sought regarding a not yet realised work on the facade of the Nieuwe Kerk that refers to Saint Catherine, a Christian saint. In relation to the proposal, SCA could not find answers to the questions: why is it important that there is an artwork at this location? And why this particular artwork, in relation to this specific context?
For this reason, Het stadscuratorium assesses this request negatively.
