On Friday 12 June, the IJzaal of Pakhuis de Zwijger hosted the launch of U bent hier – Kunst in de openbare ruimte van Amsterdam, a publication and initiative by Edo Dijksterhuis in collaboration with Stadscuratorium Amsterdam.
Moderated by Ilga Minjon, Claudia Linders, Annemarie de Wildt, Radna Rumping, Rabiaâ Benlahbib and Edo Dijksterhuis discussed the art that shapes the city of Amsterdam — and the questions it raises about public space, ownership and meaning.
Thank you to everyone who contributed to this wonderful evening, and in particular to Hanna ‘t Sas for the beautiful images. The book was written by Amal Alhaag, Rabiaâ Benlahbib, Jeroen Boomgaard, Edo Dijksterhuis, Claudia Linders, Radna Rumping, Suzanne Sanders, Sandra Smets, Annemarie de Wildt and Stadscuratorium Amsterdam, with a visual essay by Hanna ‘t Sas.
